We couldn’t mark the ending of this year without at least a few words about the passing of Frank Gehry.

We were lucky and blessed enough to have worked on a dozen projects in the last 10 years with him and his office, on projects around the globe. Each has been an experience we wouldn’t trade.
We learn from everyone we work with, but being in the environment of his office, and with his partners and staff was a true lesson in creativity, collaboration, and commitment to excellence.
It was also a study of true iteration and ideation…when thinking of his office I’m always reminded of the story about a ceramics class divided in two. One group was tasked with making one perfect vase. The other group tasked with making as many vases as they could possibly churn out. At the end of the semester, the group that made dozens of vases ended up with higher quality and better work than those that focused on one great one. Sometimes a hard lesson to put into action in the busy and compressed world we work in, but proven true time and time again.
Here's to an amazing legacy of architecture and sculpture left around the globe.
Godspeed, Mr. Gehry.
